Established in 1979, Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel and Tourism
Management is now one of the best and the largest hospitality and tourism schools in
Asia and continues to evolved to be known of providing first-rate hospitality and tourism
programs not only in Asia but also worldwide.

The school was awarded with McCool Breakthrough Award from the International
Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education primarily because of the
establishment of the Hotel ICON, the school-owned teaching and research hotel.

The school’s state-of- the-art facilities includes the following:

  1. Hotel ICON. The school-owned teaching and research hotel that
    has 262 guestrooms including 165 Deluxe Rooms, 68 Deluxe
    Rooms on the Club Floors, 26 Suites and three dedicated
    “Tomorrow’s Guestrooms”;.
  2.  Che-woo Lui Hotel and Tourism Resource Centre houses
    various educational references, learning and teaching materials.
  3. Bistro 1979. A training restaurant managed by students where they
    learn actual food and beverage management and operation.
  4. Vinoteca Lab. The school’s wine laboratory.
  5. Samsung Digital Lab for Hospitality Technology. The school’s
    computer laboratory that includes 70 notebook computers that
    comes with internet connection for students’ research works.
  • Industry experienced individuals are recruited to teach students the relevant skill,
    knowledge, qualities and experience in hospitality.
  • Various associations and clubs are organized for students’ exposure and added
    development.
  • The school hosts Career Day and Recruitment Seminar Series that provides the
